Church planting is starting a new church from an existing church. Church planting fulfils the mission of God in every place, space and context in which we find ourselves. Its activity is rooted in Jesus’ instructions in the New Testament Bible. Church planting, then, is not just one of many different strategies and practices that respond to the Great Commission of Jesus. It is the best strategy and the best practice. Jesus’ Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 reminds us of our mandate to make disciples. Church planting creates an environment for individuals to encounter Christ, grow in their faith, and become devoted disciples, regardless of the era or culture. While methodologies may change, the need for an authentic Christian community remains constant. Acts 2:42-47 provides a blueprint for genuine fellowship, where believers come together, share life, and support one another. This sense of belonging transcends generational shifts and is a cornerstone of church planting.
